hi all

Is there anyway I can add a timer to my 2010 discovery 4 hse auxiliary heater?
Manual says it’s available but I can’t find it on the screen for love now money, which suggests it’s not available or at least hiding from me!

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers
Pete

Ooh ouch.

Don’t need remote really, just a timer for winter would do.

hi

u can get big standard timers , ref Webasto 1533 oval timer , think they are around £150

have a look on the webasto web site, u will normally req the timer to be activated via diagnostics

Have enclosed a few links for u

also plenty of info here , if u look in the shop they sell the cables

You said about what the manual says and that's the only LR aproved kit... for simple timer you have to improvise

Cheers Sierra, looks like I’ve some homework to do!

Thanks gstuart.

There was a thread on the discovery 3 forum where someone asked about enabling it, someone came back with a reference to an IID with which you can turn this feature on on a discovery 4 xs.

Maybe I didn’t understand, not the first time, won’t be the last!

Hiya

glad it helped , indeed the gap iid tool is used to activate it and if u ask on there they sometimes come up second hand and then if u don’t wish to get an iid someone may be near u to activate it for u

the gap are currently £405 , expensive but if it going to keep its long term pay for themselves very quickly

there’s also the Autel which I think is around £50 , don’t know if it would work but handy to have some form of reader

done a thread the other day about it

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/autel-ap200-obd2-reader.354629/

certainly wouldn’t hurt to ask on the D3 forum, maybe someone might have a second hand unit
