Ticking ABS

Just having a poke around under the bonnet of the TD5 earlier and could hear a faint ticking. Established it was coming from what I think is the ABS unit (top of inner wing on right as you look from the front). It was hot although car not run for over an hour and feels very much as if it's doing something...although heaven knows what! Any ideas/input greatly appreciated.
