Hi Folks - my old girl (99 Thor 4.6) has had an intermittent engine glitch followed by gearbox fault message and once took ages to hot start - I read the codes and "111 engine speed not plausible" was the result.

I can safely say my Crank Position Sensor is failing (starting with the usual hot fault) in the workshop manual it mentions a tool (LT-12-122) to align the sensor when replacing it - does anyone actually bother with this or does just bolting a new one in blindly usually do the trick? I've not heard anyone mention this tool before.

Thanks in advance!

LT-12-122 is for diesel engine no tool for CPS on petrol engines.
