Well to be fair he was driving it that time, but the electric water pump seems to push the water past the cap even when not running, it seemed to find a happy level but apparently not which is why hgf is not so likely this time
fair enough ,think id have stuck to original ,might be a way of hiding symptoms with its own problems

True, it was always going to have problems but the engine health benefits (in threory) warranted a proper trial by an idiot with more ideas than money.

I'm sure this can be fixed, and then it will be the best damn cooling system ever to grace the bonet of a Land Rover.

What about a one way valve? Looks like coolant isnt supposed to go up that pipe, only down.

Didn't you read my re plumbing post?

Technically, the header tank is only there to supply some extra coolant to the plumbing when the stuff that's in there cools and contracts - I don't think it's actually meant to supply any coolant as such. Perhaps something like one of those fuel bulbs that only allow flow in one direction would work? That would prevent coolant getting forced into the tank but would allow extra coolant down into the system when cold?

Ere James....

Bearing in mind we is working in the dark here.......

how about blanking off all the bottle pipes except for one at the bottom of the tank.... and connecting that to the top of the rad. - just to use as an expansion pipe?
It will be upstreamof the EWP, so shouldnt be pressurised by the EWP.
