Since getting my 1996 discovery I have been learning all it personality. So far I have discovered these faults:

1, headlight connectors faulty
2, glow plug light stopped working
3, front sunroof leak
4, rear sunroof leak
5, front doors work intermittently
6, rear windows do not work
7, wet carpet in boot/rusty floor
8, Rear windscreen wiper stopped working
9, reverse light only work if you hold it in reverse

So far that is all, nothing too major and should keep me busy at the weekend fixing these faults!

10, spare wheel needs reselling as goes flat but it's a new tyre

:D
not everyones choice, but I swear by them tire pump up cans.
always buy them for my girls cars, coz its quicker than the rac/aa getting to them..
always carry a couple of cans in my disco, if only to get me out of trouble when its dangerous road/muddy/wet/ or dont want to change the fracking wheel.. ;)

Since getting my 1996 discovery I have been learning all it personality. So far I have discovered these faults:

1, headlight connectors faulty Get new connectors, maybe replace some wiring - DON'T USE SCOTCHLOKS
2, glow plug light stopped working Check bulb or wiring
3, front sunroof leak Lots of threads on here to fix 'em
4, rear sunroof leak Ditto to above
5, front doors work intermittently Do you mean locking or opening ? Lots of info on here.
6, rear windows do not work Check switch/fuse, failing that check PCB under the switch panel
7, wet carpet in boot/rusty floor Prolly the sunroof, but also the alpine lights leak or it's coming in from underneath
8, Rear windscreen wiper stopped working Fuse ? Wiring ? Bad earth ?
9, reverse light only work if you hold it in reverse This one can be a pain, I don't think the switch is adjustable

So far that is all, nothing too major and should keep me busy at the weekend fixing these faults!

Good luck, take your time - always ask questions, but do a search first :D ;)

Fixed the headlights - this was the connector was badly corroded and melted. Nice easy fix!

Glow plug light - relay contacts corroded, cleaned them and now working fine

Front doors - i have purchased the spring clips for both doors just need to fit them. Hopefully that will sort it out!

Reverse light - i was looking at a cheaper alternative on eBay to the OEM switch. Anyone got any experience with these? they are a fraction of the price but i don't know if its a false economy

Sunroofs - probably going to wait until summer

Also worth checking the fuse for the glow plugs.

Hope you can weld... you probably don't have a boot floor under those soggy carpets :D
