After my RRC had been at another gargae for 4 weeks with them unable to get it running properlyif at all, I called in Stuart (vougese39)

He drove down from liecster to hampshire, in the snow on a sunday and fixed it to run perfectly within 2 hours (he had it running in half an hour).

He is the man, he really knows his stuff, if you have a problem there is no point going anywhere else.

glad to have been of service!!
what i did was class this as a non start and go from there firstly mechanical ignition timing was checked and found tobe out this was reset then i checked the igintion parts cap leads and rotor these were found to be non genuine even though they are lucas items they are not the same as genuine from the dealer parts.
i brought with me a set of new genuine leads and had a good second hand cap and used the best of the two pattern rotor arms and tried to start which it did.
conecting the 14cux injection tester 4 faults were found
1 throttle pot hi low fault
2 idle valve fault
3 road speed signal
4 gear position switch

as the throttle cable had been riged to allow the car to run this had caused the 4 faults these were engine run tested and cleared and then the base idle was set with a warm engine and with a seperate tacho not the vehicle one!
I also reset the emissions on the afm as it was running very rich once this was done the igntion timing was set
mechanicaly the engine is in a good state but i cannot put across how important it is to use genuine land rover parts when it come to the igintion system as most poor running faults are linked to this cheers stuart

so most(if not all) the problems would have been irradicated had the garage used proper stuff and had better knowledge, just shows its worth seeking that second opinion from someone with a better understanding!!

excellent news!!

now maybe you can explain why p38 engines are so crap!!!
