I have read the VCU thread and have a question -

There is some reference to the procedure being different for early models (not sure where I saw that part :)) so wondered if this was true - is it pointless testing my VCU in the normal way? So far all I have done is both reversed and gone forward on full lock and the car does this without any hesitation, tyre scrubbing or increased throttle - does this show the VCU is OK?

i read somewhere, probably on here, that the surface must be flat when you reverse on full-lock and when you've dipped the clutch you shouldn't roll forwards after you've stopped going backwards.

just jack one back wheel up with hand brake off you should be able to turn it with some resistance with socket and decent sized bar on wheel nut
