I have been looking around to have my 110 55reg remap, and would like some help. I have look at defender centre Belbroughton, and also IRB, plus JE engineering. But the difference in the quote is from £199 incl to £350 plus vat to what I think is the same job. so any help out there manythanks

you need to see what they are adding/doing. But not much will happen with out a larger intercooler and exhaust chage, and if you really want to get fancy a VNT torbo, boost gauge and a pyro meter. How much HP you going for? 200/225hp

bollox, with just a good remap you can get 170bhp, and a lot more driveability,
the intercooler is used to get a cooler inlet temp when boost is raised to around 18psi, but you need a boost box wiring into the ecu to run that amount of boost,
Try Mike at Dynachip, and there is loads of info about mapping if you do a search

I have an Autologic remap which reputedly increases BHP to around 170. Suits me fine and no new intercooler/exhaust.

I have also read good things about BAS and Alive remaps which at Stage 1 do very much the same thing.

Bollox :) - I felt a big difference when I got my larger intercooler installed - without the boost box.

I have a re-map. larger intercooler, removed EGR, boost-box, silicone hoses, different air filter. It rund really sweet, with very limited black smoke. It's estimated to have 175 bhp so the bhp does not come that easy. I imagine you may be able to get around 175 with a re-map only - but then you will get lots of black smoke too..

I too have all of the mods you have but without upping boost you don't need to fit the larger intercooler as its there to lower the charge temp from running big boost and without increasing boost there is an argument it increases turbo lag

I believe (without knowing) that most td5's have a potential to raise the turbo pressure - even without the boost box. I experienced being able to raise the inlet manifold pressure to 230+ kpa (Nanocom) without going into limp mode - thus not requiring the boost-box.

I agree raising the boost is key, but the intercooler also provide an improvement on standard pressure ..
