td5 Power loss then not starting !!!!

Hay Guys

I have a 2000 td5 discovery Manual running on Diesel

The other day rollin down the motor-way as normal started chugging and just dropped all power finally ending with a non-starter

i did all the usuall checks for a petrol missfill, cracked pipes, was through searching here i found and checked the wiring loom,
sediment and fuel pump im just not finding anyone on the net with the same problems as myself and before i run out jump the gun (like i always do)and replace everything i see listed in threads with simular problems i just would like to hear if anyone has had this problem or has any ideas about what it may be

also the fuel pump is not making its pre start presure Noise everything i can find on the net is pointing away from the pump causing this problem?

But not to mine ?

Does the pump run if you put a 12v current across it directly? Have you checked the fuse and the relay?

just got hooked up with a new pump for half the price so im going to pop that in and see if it sorts it out

haha on to the next fuel prob

New fuel pump installed, new fuel filter, were now running but its not ticking over normally just basically jumpy and power feels to be maybe 10% below what it was, i have checked the injector loom (with out removing the rocker cover fearfull big job) removed the erg and gave it a cleam out with no improvement, im now having a look at the fuel pressure reg has anyone had anything simular happen ?
