Hi I have a 2001 disco td5 it had already been remapped when I bought it 4weeks ago it's also got egr bypass fitted straight through middle section and a itg air filter i drive very steady but I've done 4 weeks of brim to brim test and I can only get 25/26 mpg I know this I about right for a standard auto but with all the extras on I was expecting a bit better my daily commute is 18 miles each way which is mostly A roads at 50/55
Any ideas anyone
Cheers

id be half pleased with that mpg!!!

egr bypass isnt particuarly going to give you any improvement in mpg, neither is a higher flowing air filter (which will want more fuel to compensate for the extra oxygen)

These "improvements" are about getting extra power, not economy

you might find that because its been remapped, your maximum torque figure might have moved to a different rpm and so a different road speed.

I had a similar issue with our signum, it gives returns better mpg if you keep it at peak torque around 75 mph rather than slow n steady at 60.

do you have a dyno print out following your remap?

if so, peak torque is the revs you want... provided its not stupid speed, at which point the drag of the brick like resistance will outweigh any engine efficiency.

What were the requirements of the remap... power? torque? driveability? Who did it?

Depends if the remap was for economy, more power or both? Presumably the seller didn't tell you? If you know who did the remap you can ask for a graph chart to show how the remap was done. Your mpg is not bad and you obviously dont have a heavy foot, just try different average speeds and see how that works out. Mine was remapped (before I had it) for economy, suits me :)

It was already done when I bought it is there anyway to find out who did it apart from seller
