pressed sport mode at a set of lights when I pulled away after about 100 yds lost throttle, engine light has come on and m and s lights are flashing, had a quick rummage around and fuse f2 had blown tried replacing it as soon as ignition is on it blows again any ideas please.

Ok, unplug the electric connectors one by one as follows and see after which one the fuse doesnt blow:
1. wastegate modulator
2. MAF
3. EGR modulator if still there
- if it doesnt blow after 1 take the hose which is connected to the bottom of the modulator and connect it somehow to the one which goes to the wastegate valve and let the modulator unplugged untill you replace it
- if it doesnt blow after 2 unplug the MAF and let it unplugged that's all...then buy a new one
- if 3 is the culprit just let it unplugged and bypass the EGR if it's still there but it will be driveable even so
Now if you dont have throttle response at all only idle it's possible that the fuse and the fault are not related and the problemn is the throttle potentiometer

The other thread was a thank you,no secrets about fixing the disco ,it was a wire that had got hot behind the egr pipe is everybody happy now.

It's for the benefit of others who may be looking at this thread in the future, an having an end result by the OP would be helpful.
Who will think to look at thread with the title "A HUGE thanks" would give an ending to another thread with an electrical issue.?.
