So , I cleaned out the ecu plastic box yesterday - the jack was looking a littel grubby. Decided to pull the plugs on the ECU whilst I was in there. Red plug covered in oil on the inside.

Now the question is, does the oil track down the cores of the wires or the outside of them? The reason I as is that ALL the wires going into the red plug are dry and dusty on the outside, no trace of oil at all?

If the oil tracks down the outside, then perhaps when the loom was replaced by a previous owner, they or the garage didn't clean out the plug?

Cheers,

No oil in the injector harness connector  !! The oil is the residue from when a harness did leak, so I'll give the red plug another flush out - perhaps leave it unplugged and dangling overnight.

I did buy another harness for the inevitable, but it was only £20 from Preesall Garage.... yes it is a Britpart (he's a stockist FWIW), but if ITT Cannon (name on bottom of connector) make the original harnesses then it's the same as LR's own.
