Hi my 2004 td5 has started with a cold start misfire with white smoke if you start it and let it tick over its fine or give it lots of throttle its fine is seen to be just above tick over to about 2000 rpm have change the injector loom and cleaned all oil from the red plug, also changed the injector seals to original, the only fault codes that come up are dtc vehicle speed outside bounds for cruise (were fitted) active and 160 can error fault active. Any help on were to look next would be appreciated.

If you manage to make any headway with this, let us know because I occasionally get this with mine. Sometimes on startup it's not quite as smooth as usual, and can produce white smoke. As far as I'm aware I've not got those error codes though. Ot at least not last time I checked.

I've had some symptoms a little like this but much worse with some faults that turned out to have an identifiable cause. One was a duff crank position sensor which yielded some very large cylinder balance values and a 'high speed crank error' code. A new famous-name branded one cured it. The other was an ECU in the process of failing which would yield very rough and smoky start ups combined with 'peak charge long' errors for several of the injectors. At first this only happened occasionally, and it could be reset and start again fine, but eventually it happened on every start up, so was useless in the end. I sent it off for repair but they said they couldn't do it, so I got a secondhand one off Ebay.
