Td5 fault code 57 fuel pump drive open load fault

have anybody had this trouble my td5 90 misses ,lacks power and drinks juice , have replaced the usual injector harness and cleaneed the ecu connector many times, the man at the garage says that it is showing fault code 57 and thinks that its the pump and would cost £1000 to fix it , im hoping that somebody on here has had the same problem and found that it was some thing minor

I'd say fuel pressure regulator has to be worth a look before forking out £1000.

Stig. I plugged my landy into my diagnostic today and I have fault code 57 fuel pump drive open load fault showing on mine too.:doh: I get 25mpg outta mine. There is no way I'm gonna replace my fuel pump just cos I have this fault code showing.

I hAVE fault code 57 fuel pump drive open load fault. Can someone help me why does the car not want to start. What would the solution to start the car be?
I have already changed the fuel pump and the code its still showing and it wont clear.

HELP!!!

Just assuming it is the pump, why would it cost £1000? He is seriously taking the proverbial...

Even if you paid up to £300 for a brand new genuine pump and even if you drop the tank to fit it then you are looking at a couple of hours labour - I would expect to pay £400 tops - or instruct them to cut an access panel and then neatly and carefully rivet in a new one and do it in about an hour. Or go aftermarket and probably do the whole lot for £175.
