yeah and both quite good although i find fortune labour cost is a tad dearer but if yer after parts its either.

ITS NOT A BMW ENGINE! But try Turner engineering for a replacement - Richard Turner builds a good engine.

just cuz they owned the company at the time of devlopement!
have even heard people say that the dealership sales staff say they are BMW!
cant say i've heard of a 5 cylinder dizul BMW engine in their cars
maybe some of their technoligy went in but i dowt that! all they wanted from the group was the mini and the hill desent & 4x4 technoligy from lr
hence why i give beemers about the same respect on the roads as road kill!

Cant be bothered with bull---t politics,but it would be nice if some credit was given to the design team at Solihull,who were responsible for project "Storm".
Despite a few moaning idiots and a lack of understanding the TD5 is proving to be a good motor,its few faults,(Like the TDI's before.) are well known and are easily sorted.For a small outfit with limited resources its a darn sight better than the BMW offerings of the time.

Why not get a 2nd hand low milage engine from a dismantler?
There's always loads on Ebay for about a grand with 85 or so shipping.

The price that was asked for was the price they paid, & it aint their fault if it was sold too cheaply. That payment entitled them to cherry pick the best & get rid of the rest as they see fit, no matter what crusading heroes like yourself might like to think, ok tosspot.
