Hi, Does anyone out have any ideas. My 2002 TD5 Automatic is becoming a pig to start either when hot or cold. Occasionally it's perfect?? I've check all of the normal stuff and had a mechanic mate check it over for anything obvious. It's progressively got worse over the last two months. Thanks Richard

What is it or isn't it doing?

Is it just clicking? Is it cranking over? Is it smoking when cranked? What colour is the smoke? Is the fuel pump priming? Is the fuel pump excessively noisey?

A few more details might just help.:doh::doh:

Thanks for your swift response. The engine always turns over nicely, no real excessive smoking when it finally does fires up, blackish smoke only for a few seconds, no apparent problems with the fuel pump.
