Hi, new to the site so please forgive me if I'm going over old ground. 2002 Disco 2 air con did not blow cold so took it to ATS and they did pressure check and regas - all fine. But still not cold at all, dropped panel below steering wheel and all movement seems to be occurring when moving temp from hot to cold. Checked all fuses, there are no drips. Any ideas anyone, please go gently I'm no mechanic.... thanks

Personal temperature is subjective, so what do you expect from the dash vents? ATS should have been shown U the temps at the vents
An idea of the output temperature from the dash vents with the system switched to ‘air recirculating’ and blower on full, plus what the outside ambient temp is would be handy, as the output temp varies with the ambient.
A climate controlled system is more involved, than a manual system which my disco is fitted, but with the recent warm weather my disco was putting out 6C to 7C with an ambient of 31C, so I’m happy with that for my 23 year vehicle.

There are many opportunities to have vehicle AC recharged, main dealerships, garages, tyre and exhaust centres, even DIY at Halfords and almost any fool can add some extra refrigerant and make the car cooler - at least temporarily. The expertise is to ensure that the vehicle stays that way.
That expertise is found only in those company’s that staff spend years of their working life doing nothing but vehicle air conditioning and also with the specialised tools necessary to detect leaks or to diagnose other AC faults.

So if your unhappy with the dash vent output, then find a local Vehicle Air Condition only company and take your disco there.

I’d agree with this, it sounds like ATS didn’t actually check your system after topping it up with gas? I’ve taken my focus to garages 3x to have ac done over the past few years….each time it lasted no time whatsoever, I’ve bought the gear, read up on it, tested it and recharged it myself and has been fine for months now.

Lots of garages employ chimps IMO

Thanks, yes i think i will start by taking it back to ATS. I found how to do a diagnostic check on the head unit but that didnt show any error codes. It has heat but as i press the button to bring it down to lo, it lowers to a point then just doesnt get any cooler

It appears that u have climate control, which does what it thinks u need as does the system thats fitted to my Jag, switching to low is cold but it also switches the blower to a very high setting, so have to lower fan speed and that’s where it stays so I’m overriding the climate function by not dialling in a temperature setting which if I remember the lowest is 16C highest 24C which I expect is inside the car and not at the vents, may be I should show a bit more interest and take some temperature readings in the car, maybe one day :)
