So this is related to a mates 110. Almost identical symptoms to my old 110.

Had the truck over a year, has always had a strange starting sequence. Feeling like it starts up on 3 cylinder after a few seconds, fires up on all cylinders. Got progressively worse in the freeze overs, would take multiple times to start but would still then start on 3 eventually after a few seconds kicking into 5.

So far replaced the FPR with genuine around 5K miles ago due to a slight leak. No difference to starting method.

Replaced the air bleed valve and reed valve on the fuel filter housing, zero difference. Even though the reed valve was noticeably stuck open and not doing its job correctly.

Then recently replaced the injector seals and washers with genuine, direct from landrover.
Upon putting the engine back together, the car cut out on its first drive, did a purge. It got going again and was fine for roughly 40miles.
When all of a sudden cruising along a 30 road in 4th it lost power, changed down through the gears seeing if there was any power left and nothing. When coming to a stop it idle for a couple of seconds made what sounded like a diesel knock or two. Checked the oil level and it was dramatically filled with diesel. With visible signs of diesel around the manifold and turbo. Starter motor felt jammed, probably the incorrect thing to do at the time was to try start it again.

Recovered home, tried turning by hand, was doable with a breaker bar but hard.
Decided to strip it back down, took the injectors out and they were all looking fine, no scores on seals or any parts.

My guess is 1 or more injectors are shagged, dripping fuel in instead of atomising.

Anyone else care to weigh in?

Turned over by hand with injectors out, large quantities of diesel squirted out the injector ports almost like it nearly hydrolocked itself.
Sump off to check bottom end and all appeared to look good with zero signs of wear.
