TD5 Auto woes...

Hi, two things have appeared this month on my 99 auto. The first is the mode button has stopped working ( the light on the dash lights up on start up but no mode fucntion) and i have just noticed it won't go into first? I have taken the cover off and the last notch it is in indcates it's in 2nd. All other gears are fine any clues? Mpg? cant seem to get over 20 round town she has a K&n, de egr and is running 265 75's is that about right?

Sounds to me like the gear selector switch needs adjusting, on the side of the gearbox.
