TD5 2002 electric probs

Hi all,
I have a Td5 with a mind of its own. The dash lights go on and off when they like, the immobilser will lock me out. The headlights come on when they are not switched on.
I have had a garage change the under dash fuse box with a second hand one but its made it worse, test book said this was the problem due to water ingress.
Any ideas please...

In this case the water ingress is at the BCU....most common than the IDM(which they replaced)... or the second hand fusebox\IDM was f**ked as well

I'd second that, it's the BCU

Well.... it's fact U do..M8, but then there's nothing else to do in the "west part" of Transylvania

Thanks for that, looks like its the instrument clocks in the dash causing the problem after 5 weeks in the garage and with access to caffyns Landrover diagnostic.

I'm wondering how any part of the instrument pack would trigger the immobiliser though

I will keep you updated once i have the part delivered..
If this dont work then may be i will break it up for parts!!!

I'm insisting on the BCU though.... especially cos it doesnt store fault codes. I had a quite similar issue once...it was a circuit broken within the BCU

All sorted, there was a short across the fuel guage in the dash somewhere that had caused wires to melt.
