Alas this is all I can find out I’m afraid ,hopefully the insurance company will find a garage that will sort it out for u if u tell them ur not happy

Plse let us know how u get on

That link is very "illuminating" especially for me who has little interest in this partcular model of LR.

I am wondering if the OP refits his original headlight whether the fault will remain or go away. If the fault disappears maybe he could just buy a secondhand headlight and fit that, after testing obvs.
If not, isn't there a factory reset or something he could try?

So the belux help got back to say that as it’s not an authorized dealer they cannot help. So really is a cartel.

So in Luxembourg is it illegal to not have daylight running lights?
That is mad, but not impossible.
How badly cracked was the original light. You may be able to pass the Controle with it if you put clear tape over it.
Or not if they are cretinous jobsworths.
If the light bulb itslef works I'd be tempted to run a cable from the one on the otherside that IS working and soemhow wire it in so they both come on.
Unless the flipping ECU is so clever it can tell you've done that.
As with all CTs you can undo what you have done just to pass then fix it properly at your leisure.
But if the whole thing is covered by insurance then they may just have to wear you taking it to the official LR Kontz to get it fixed.
I'd be tearing my hair out and ranting and raving.:(:(:(

lol,

Indeed wonder if it’s worth swapping them over, of course understand it won’t fit but just to test them from side to side and see if it’s the headlight itself or the wiring

Indeed there should be a software activation but that’s for both headlights , seeing it’s already been activated I would assume it would be plug and play

Nothing like going from pillar to post with JLR but doesn’t surprise me as they’ve never been helpful in the past unless u pay there rip off labour costs which I think the last time were around £160 per hour plus vat

Hopefully the insurance company can find a suitable garage as the poor op is without his motor from just a headlight

As a side note and don’t know if it’s possible or available for these but on mine I replaced just the lens

Fortunately its the wife's car and she is unable to drive at the moment. So am giving the garage until the end of this week then will have to speak to the insurance company. The local garage is usually god and helped me out in the past.
