My defender will not start. Last week it suddenly died on me doing 60mph on motorway. AA came out and couldn't get it started. Towed home and next morning started fine, but then cut out after a few minutes when revved up.

Since done following:-
- replaced mass air flow filter/sensor
- replaced Glow plugs (they had all suddenly failed also)
- check fuel regualr supply (fine)
- checked ecu for oil leaked Into plugs (all fine)
- checked injector rail was fitted ok

any one else know what cause engine not too start

Can you hear the fuel pump running? If yes and it delivers 4 bar to the FPR too the crank sensor is one suspect but you really need to plug in a diagnostuic tool otherwise it's a guessing game

Yes, fuel pump running fine. We did a diagnostic tool and it's saying something about injectors

Would be good to know exactly what it's saying about the injectors, it's important cos if it's about open circuit you dont have to search further as that's the problem which can be caused by the loom even if no oil in the ECU plug, it can be chafed in front of the engine or loosen at the head plug or solenoids... also when you plug in a scanner it's not enough to read the codes for a non starter, you have to read the live rpm input while cranking to see if the crank signal is OK or not cos it can be low and in many cases it doesnt throw a fault code unless it's completely fubar.
