Hi to all, This is my first post and I am looking for a bit of advice..
My 2000TD4 has blown the inlet manifold apart along the seam near the EGR.. :)mad: Black every where) I need to know if it could have been caused by another engine bit failing or it is just down to the manifold itself..
Can some one tell me the approx cost of this manifold and the best place to get a replacement..
After replacing would I be wise to replace engine oil and filter.. or anything else I should do
Any help advice please.... Thank you

Hi Shadrack. . . .its a plastic inlet, un quite rare to go , but anything is possible, its an easy job to replace, clean up the agr valve at same time, and check the engine inlet for any burn marks [blown] ,it is important to torque the manifold down correct, normally i don't bother but this is plastic to gasket to metal so when you tighten up,little bit at a time then torque . . . .un best oh luck :)

Thanks for your positive input Ming. I have now ordered the new manifold part and gaskets from my local dealer. After fitting, if all Ok I will give the engine a filter/oil change after a putting a flushing oil through it. I have got an EGR bypass (A recent purchase from RoverRon) I think that will be fitted at the same time....
Any sugestions on the best/most suitable oil to use.. The engine has only covered some 38k in 8years..
Regards

:) :) :) I ALWAYS USE HALFRADS HALF SYTHETIC DOOZLE OIL. . . .OOPS CAPS ON. . . .it werks fer me ,i change mine every year anyhows , un check all yer rubber turbo inlets for any little holes splits [youve got three on your model] , this can cause a build up of real black oil , and its possible this could have caused the problem in the first place [worth a good check]:) :) :)

Hi Ming,
Do you mean the elbow rubber pipe which is connected to the EGR and the two going to/from the intercooler gizmo at the front..
