+1
the mushroom shaped bit is where you clamp the exhaust. It'll make sense when you offer it up before fitting.I found that a little bit of exhaust sealant paste at this joint was a good idea as mine didn't seal too well first time.

when blanking the egr would it pass a MOT after

so far 2 mot's with the egr deleted (alisport unit fitted ) ..
no comments from the tester ..
( get the mot done at my local LR dealership )

ok I am new so going to ask. what is the difference between the one Matt posted and the alisport unit. apart from £40?
Im not having a pop at alisport, just asking
also do you need to get the engine remapped after fitting/

dunno the difference between the 2 really maybe apart from they are made with different materials allisport is made from Aluminium the 1 I bought similar to the others on ebay is made from mild steel
never had my engine remapped after fitting but I do know it seems to run better cleaned the manifold out as well fitted new air filter pollen filter crankcase filter
will be buying a ronbox(synergy) when I can afford it

different material at a guess ..

no big deal .. does the same job ..

the alisport one is alloy ..

no need to ..

don't know about the L-series diesel ..
but with the td4 .. a good tuning box .. or remap ..
make it far more responsive to the go-pedal ..

I'llbe buying the cheaper one and seeing how it goes

The saying u get what you pay for .... sometimes little gems pop up cheaper like my td4 which cost me not alot once the sale of the L series got sold :)

'llbe buying the cheaper one and seeing how it goes

just keep an eye out for rust .. in time that'll be the only main difference
should be fine on the inside as there's always a slight mist of oil from the turbo

you should get slightly better mpg and a tad better engine response from the 'egr delete'
plus .. no egr valve to gunk up .. stick 'n cause problems ..
engine will breathe better ..

I blanked off my EGR a couple of years ago, had an Autologic remap done and replaced the crankcase breather for a BMW one. No comments at last 2 MOT's either. I also have an Allisport full face intercooler fitted and silicone hoses. I only get to drive it when my wife Isn't using it for her work ! (I have a brand new LR 110 Utility work vehicle though)

Checked with the mot tester couple of weeks ago after mine had passed with the EGR bypassed. I was aware that new regs were being introduced next month regarding particulate filters but wasn't sure if having a bypass would result in a fail, he assured me that having a bypass did not warrant a fail in the new regs.

Funny, mine was sent yesterday and arrived today

From the photo's would say urs looks a little better made but urs was almost double price lol

Aslong as mine does the job it will do me lol

I like how alli sport have put the thin tube into a thicker one as thin tubus are hard to weld also what fits onto the thin tube and what does the T knob do
