Freelander 1 Td4 alternator replacement

How easy is it? Had a quick look and access looks ok’ish for a transverse engine. Anything to watch out for when getting the old one out?

You need to drop the under cover and a/c compressor (if you have one!) then the hardest bit was getting the electrical plug out ! Can be withdrawn o.k with a/c just wired out the way no need to disconnect pipes (which is good). Some good threads about fitting and removing belts - worth a read before you start to get the right spanner for the tensioner - wrong spanner will round it or mean your knuckles get it.
