Apart form the forum member CharlesY who made it into the papers as a hero last week for rescuing a load of stranded drivers. Has anyone else put their trusty truck to good use and rescued any stranded motorists. I pulled 22 cars up the hill near me yesterday and the best one of all was a new BMW X5, the guy couldn't understand why his shiny new 4x4 was only capable of pirouetting on the compact snow instead of climbing the hill :D I politely explained it had something to do with his low profile racing tyres. :D he was just a little embarrassed at having got stuck and needing a pull :D:D

I spent most of today messing about on the moor, was quite amusing watching so many cars slide around all over the place, couldnt even get out of the carparks. Unfortunatly never got the chance to tow anyone as every stuck car we were able to get moving just by a few of us pushing it.

I've only had to pull one stuck car so far, this guy in a slitty  had approached an icy hill too fast slid out and got stuck against a kerb. Front wheel drive with lots of spinning, loads of people trying to push him off and 1 very annoyed & embarrassed driver ...

... I pulled over and offered to tow him out, 5 mins later and the Disco had literally dragged him back onto the main road:D up and icy hill, it was funny as hell when the two coppers who stopped the traffic for me promptly gave him a roasting for being a tw@t in thinking he could have driven the hill:D

I've pulled a van and a car up a hill that they couldn't cope with. I was on the way home from work, giving a lift to a colleague who drives a Fiesta. I think he enjoyed the "adventure"

My Neighbours 2 doors down have a Gaylander. Funnily enough its parked at the bottom of the hill because they couldn't get it back up...:D:D:D

I've towed 9 cars out of trouble in the last 2 days.
5 of them were BMWs.

Other than just generally being **** cars, they are particualrly **** in the snow - there were 3 abandoned between here and Liskeard on our trip there this morning! Combo of rear wheel drive and total ****s behind the wheel i think!

today i as spent a few hours ****in folk off by leavin um stranded cus i find there all miserable coonts down our road so fookum, then occasionally i,ve popped outside witha nice cuppa and watched the sad fookers in there motas tryin ta gerrup the hill outside our house:D:D

I thought the X5 had true locking rear diff?

Pulled a Citroen C4 and a BMW 320d up a half decent hill this afternoon.

Probably nothing to do with cars, tyres or road conditions. Just poor clutch, power control. This was plainly obvious as cars were over taking me as i was hitching them up.

Both very confused, yet very grateful, so no harm done

I lost count of how many cars I've pulled out or towed to a recoverable position since 2am this morning. I've not long got back in. I also towed an articulated milk tanker, several of our own breakdown and recovery trucks (all 7.5 ton and upwards), one vito van and helped a guy in a 90 get up an icey hill nr shepton mallet.
