Dear Fellow Landy's,

Can anyone help me with the annoying problem my recent acquisition of a Freelander Soft Back 1999. The car was purchased for my wife and she is now on my case as it has gone doo-lally.

One sunny day not long after we got it, we put the soft top down, (which as we didnt have a manual took some figuring out!!) after putting soft top back up we locked the car in the normal manner.a couple of hours later the alarm started to go off and the tailgate window had gone down on its own. we repeated the shutting the window and alarming procedure all the way thru the night, but the same thing just kept on happening. We are quite lucky to live in a rural area so in the end after getting up all thru the night we decided to not lock the doors and keep the alarm off. However the next morning we noticed that the window had gone down on its own. does anybody have any suggestions as to what we can do. The car had worked ok until we took the soft top down so must be linked i suppose, please help ................

Theres a switch on the driver side? just above the hindgy bit of the hood that might be worth a coat of lookin at, If its not making a good enough contact then yer alarm could got off or not set at all if its not switching,I think it also drop the window when it senses the hoods down, hope it helps and Welcome
The Wifes.. agen!!! he he

Dear Mondo, have looked at the switch you are on about, did look suspect was'nt being pushed all the way in so have shoved a piece of cardboard in between so i hope that works. thanks for the reply.
