Tail/rear window opens on its own!!

Hi all,
Another little niggle, noticed it last sunday at morrisons. Locked up as normal to do a shop.When i returned my rear window was completely down (open).
After having a go at our lass for pressing the button (which she denied) i was almost certain i had not pressed it, and its not in a place where you can accidently knock it. Completely forgot about it until today parked up at me mates, locked it as above, came back out from house and again it was fully down.
Any ideas welcomed as could be a target for thieves if it happened at night! (or during the day, doesnt matter these days)

I have had the same problem with my rear window! but it was also going down while i was driving. the way i stoped this was as mine is a three door the roof comes off which lifts a switch. all i did was put a small piece off rubber on the switch, so when the roof is on it fully pushes against it. ive had no problems since.

Might be a stupid question but do you know about the key fob way of doing the back window.
If you keep the unlock button pressed down for a couple of seconds the back window will come down.
I thought I had a similar fault on mine but it turned out I was hitting the wrong button on my key fob and holding it to long. Then I would get the right button and lock up not realising the back window had come down.

I had the same prob with mine - lock the car in the drive - go inside and sit down with key fob in pocket - go out next morning and find window down. It transpired that I was accidentally pressing button in pocket indoors.

Any one noticed though - when you want to open the doors, the key fob never fookin works first time around. But to open the bastard by accident is as easy as breathing.

Me thinks you might have solved the problem, its not as stupid question as you thnk coz i didnt know about it. It does make sense coz i have a habit of pressing the wrong button when locking up.
It hasnt happened since and only them 2 times.

p.s. what is the point/benefit of being able to unlock using the fob?? seems a bit silly to me??

If you are in a car park un some muppet parks 2 inches of yer bumper, you can still put yer shoppin in the boot without opening tailgate.

of course - if yu had a REAL land rover - yu could just push them out of the way.

Have had same problem in the beginning (back in 2001) happened twice to me and I was sure not having kept the button pushed. In the end there was a TSB for it and dealer exchanged some ECU or so. No problems encountered anymore since then.

PROBLEM:
INVOLUNTARY OPERATION OF TAILDOOR GLASS - CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT (CCU).
The taildoor glass moves to the fully lowered position without driver intervention,
while the vehicle is parked with the ignition turned OFF.

CAUSE:
This is a rare condition which can occur due to a software error within the CCU
resulting in a susceptibility to external interference.

ACTION:
Where the customer describes a taildoor glass having operated as described
above:
•Confirm initially that the window drop facility, which is a feature operated from
the remote handset, has not been used accidentally.
•On 3 door Hardback derivatives only, confirm satisfactory electrical and
mechanical operation of the ‚roof off™ micro switch. Refer to Technical Bulletin
0036 for details of the micro switch setting procedure.
•Where satisfied that none of the above conditions apply, replace the CCU with
revised unit YWC000031. Refer to Workshop Manual repair number 86.55.75 for
replacement procedure.
•Programme the replacement CCU to market requirements using T4/TestBook.
