Hi,
After fixing my tail gate door lock, the rear window operates slightly differently to before:

Before: lowering or raising the window to anything but fully shut or open resulted in the window then closing itself

After: I can now stop the window partially open

The window lowers / shuts perfectly on opening / shutting the door

Actually, this is better now as I can stop the fumes coming in so much whilst driving, but ...

What is the 'normal' behaviour? Is it normal to be able to leave the rear window partially opened?

yes .. about an inch or two down from fully closed.
stopping any lower will result in window fully opening.
[ at least .. it does on mine ;-/ ]
.

You should be able to stop the window at any point to about ½ way on the way down by holding the down button, then releasing when it's at the position you want. If it goes beyond the stop point, it'll drop all the way down, and you'll need to fully close the window and have another go.

If you stop the window at any point when closing, the window will fully open again.

Thanks!
Thats exactly the behaviour I have now :)
Great, I must have cleaned or bashed something when I sprayed silicon all inside the door whilst I had the door card off before
Since my A/C doesnt work (nor my rear seat side leccy windows - until I fit the cable kits I got off flea-bay whilst home in UK at Xmas) when its 40 degrees here in summer it will be nice to have the rear window open a bit
