Sport Symposer/resonator location

Hi, I'm using the 5litre engine from a 2010 Range Rover Sport and am getting down to the small details now. The back of the engine has a symposer on it, which feeds sound via a hose to a resonator fitted in the sport fire wall. This much I know, but I'm trying to figure out exactly where on the fire wall it located. It's a blue plastic, funnel shaped device which connects to the engine via a hose (around 3/4 inch, but I haven't actually measured it). If anyone could tell me where it is, or better still, post a photo, I would be really grateful

When I started out driving we didn't have such nouveau fangledness, we had to rely on bare naked bulkheads, the omission of several grommets and the piercing of silencers to extract aural pleasure.
All in the vain hope of pulling young pretty singers you see,,,,,,,,,get it?;):D
 
I hate to be the voice of logic but why not just phone your local stealer and ask? Not sure but part number might and I stress might be ERC7990

The part number is actually LR016211 and I have it already, my question is more where it is located. This engine is actually going into a discovery 2 (https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/6-wheel-drive-discovery-ii-am-i-totally-mad.301730/ if you're interested) so I need to locate the resonator before the engine goes in. It has already been in once, but is currently out for an unrelated gearbox/transfer box problem, and I just wanted to fit this item while the engine is out - it would impossible to do with the engine in situ.

If the resonator is directly behind the engine, then this would be behind the A/C unit in the cabin which would be fine if that's the case, but I just wondered what happened in the original case.

I could ask the dealer, but someone out there would know :)
 
Heck Dave, I was completely unaware of your build so thanks for the linky, I may just try and contact Suzy Dent to come up with a new and fitting superlative in honour of your abilities and achievements so far.

Are you aware of BOM and project Binky?https://www.youtube.com/user/badobsessionmsport they have packaging issues far in excess of your magnificent creation but you are so well matched in the ability dept. let alone the madness one!

Lol, yeah I think they may be even crazier than me ! The ironic thing is that they are based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. I was born and brought up there ! Small world isn't it !

I could see you in partnership, and maybe winching them out of the ravine they will inevitably find themselves at the foot of because they didn't do a simple custom abs system!
Your gonna fit a front winch I hope?;) CAN enabled, lol.

Interesting project. Sorry , I couldn't be of help.
 
. Do i take it the 5.0 litre engine will drive a genni to charge the batteries and the twin rear axles are needed to carry them. :D:D. Joking apart, one hell of a project keep at it. :cool::cool:
