Hello,

Can anyone with either the swan neck, or removable tow bar post a few pictures of it from the rear please.

I'm trying to work out how far below the bottom of the bumper they are (if at all).

Is that the swan neck Druim?

I'm going to site my LPG filler in the centre of the bumper (where I'd like it) and want to know if I'll have to move it if I ever fit the removable or swan neck tow bar.

Looks like there might be just enough room. Here's hoping!
 
A filler on the bumoper is not a great place to the point that Registered LPG installers won't place it there for safety reasons should a rear end incident occurs...also if your load becomes detached or during the hitch process, the load is on a slight decline and it hits the filler point, you could be in a world of hurt....

Whilst a centre filler is convinent so you can pull up to either side of a LPG pump, I fear it may not be a wise decision...your call your car.
 
Hmm, the kit I bought (designed for a P38) specifically has a bumper mounting bracket.

Similar to this...

I was advised side mounted fillers (on the bumper) get in the way of the structure holding the bumper on, or are too near the exhaust to be legal (without a heat shield). I didn't want to cut a hole in my bodywork so I didn't want to go down that route either!

I don't have a towbar at the moment and may never get one so the point might be moot.
 
I could have given you a bum-steer on that one...

You can fit the filler on the lower part of the bumper, although not recommended, it is possible and LPG fitters will fit it there, but they do recommend a tow ball or tow ball bracket is fitted to offer some form of mechanical protection for the filler point....

Also with a bumper mounted filler, the filler point is connected using a flexible hose and not a solid pipe, so it flexes and gives in the event of a crash, whereas a solid pipe may split....

Can I just ask where (or what) the cross bar that the top two lugs of the tow bar attach to? I thought the whole thing attached to the chassis cross member, but there is an extra bar you install isn't there?

At least there is on the ones for sale on eBay!

There is aother big circular hollow section (4" IIRC) which goes across between the chassis rail bumper mounts.

As I said in another thread, the OEM hitch is stronger than any aftermarket one I've seen and I've fitted a few.

I'd like to get the quick release one. I don't tow that often, and my trailer isn't so big anyway so I'm sure it'd be up to the job.

The quick release ones look neat, but DAMN they are are expensive! Even 2nd hand.
