Any idea of how to tighten up the rear top shock mounts on a Freelander. One side is moving and when you wobble it by hand it is clearly loose. Thoughts? How do you access it?

Also... how do you check gearbox oil level?

Model year?

Model variant?

3/5 door?

Petrol/Diesel?

Manual/Automatic transmission?

Home /Export/ North American Specification?

c'mon, rear shock mount has got to be the same on all models, if i recall, remove side panel inside boot and there is a large rubber dome /grommet over the locknut holding the damper.

Thanks mate... people get so upset when you don't give gearbox number, ashtray colour and tread depth on a post!!!!

Hope that it is the mount. Will check it out on my 04 plate 5 door td4 UK car! ;-)

It's not a good idea to be smart with the people that regularly offer help.
In fairness if you want an answer to the gearbox question the request for vehicle details is very relevant since there are three different gearboxes fitted to the various freelanders. I'm sure Dann was, as usual, trying to help.
