Im losing my marbles with this range rover its a 2008 RRS 2.7 HSE

iv had it checked no leaks on any of the air suspension units.
I had ot disagnosed as faulty pump by land rover itself ( wasnt cheap to diagnose by them ) had genuine amk pump put on and new relay same time along with height sensor on the rear as they said that was faulty all fine for all of 24Hours and now the pump keeps kicking in and orange suspension fault showing again when i start the vehicle it goes straight up to offroad height for no reason at all.
Anyone shed some light im sick of it and im running out of funds to fix the poxy thing.
Thanks guys

Throw it back to them and don't be put off if they tell you something else must have gone tits up.the trouble is they keep changing bits until hopefully it cures the problem.talk about trading standards and fit for purpose usually focuses their mind.Fecking Stealers. Top tip, see if you can find an Independent RR specialist in your area.

It went to independant before it went to them robbing idiots haha they said the same thing compressor is knackared as i oept getting faults vehicle will raise when pump is cooled down
But got new genuine pump fitted and after 24 hours same light back on.
Its driving me mad

I think most of us learnt that it is cheaper in the long run to invest in some decent land rover specific diagnostic kit to at least give you a head start before taking it somewhere if you can't fix it yourself. Fixing it yourself is not always as difficult as it might sound although there isn't a lot of sport owners on here the net has plenty of information.

Iv had all diagnostics read and replaced everything it says is wrong with genuine parts but still get the problem.
Only think that havnt been changed is the air tank but cant see any leaks anywhere kn it and its been checked as i ssid by more tha one garage including the dealers

Sorry to hear this matey, take it back to the garage and simply say the repair hasn't worked and they need to go over their work and diagnosis again.
How you start the conversation will determine how it ends up... I know you know and even when your angry, it will help with the outcome hopefully. Whether or not they find the fault will depend on their capabilities unfortunately.
Good luck with your machine.

if ur handy with a multimeter and tools I’m more than happy to also help as much as I can , rebuilt most of my suspension including the electrical side and often made the air turn blue, lol

few things before throwing back at them

was the old compressor a hitachi / dunlop , if so was the software updated for the AMK

does pulling fuse F26 that’s in the engine bay and leaving it in off road height overnight cause the suspension to drop

fingers crossed the garage sorts it out once and for all , but at least u know there’s plenty here to always help

ps, There’s a few things that can cause it going straight into off road height ,

calibration And sensors , but that’s been done

So it will then be checking the voltages at the sensors / checking wiring and the loom connectors , know where they are if u need to check

Best way to check for leaks is spray bottle bottle of soapy water and go on the hunt although don’t touch it if you intend to get someone else to reamend their repairs

ur right there, if they see you’ve touched it an easy excuse for them to charge more

After using soapy water with mine I found vacuum testing each line was a godsend as then at leat I knew 100% that particular line was sound

The diagnostics are good but sometimes they are misleading. I had a rear height sensor break and so I replaced it and kept trying to clear the code for it but it came back. I swapped to another new sensor and still the same. I did a battery reset and the code changed to too much energy required for that corner implying the bag had a split. It was only when I checked live data for the compressor pressure I realised it couldn’t reach the pressure required. Once rebuilt the rear height fault code cleared, there was no codes relating to compressor before or after.
What I’m trying to say in a very long winded way is if you have your own diagnostics that can clear faults you can try different things yourself without having to pay to have it plugged in every time and the time involved.

Also faults on suspension can be linked to other systems which diagnostics can guide you towards.
You may also need to calibrate the suspension

Ant that the truth ref codes , sometimes sending u down the yellow brick road, lol

had an airbag fault that took me several months to find , was one wire in a small connector and only found it by doing a continuity test on one wire at a time

Hi again stuart.

Last compressor was AMK and thats whats gone back on its been calibrated more than once and set up iv been there while they did it.

Yes taken the fuse out you mentioned at off road height and measures right round left it over 20 hours and didnt move at all exact same measurments right round so no sign of leaking on any corner. Iv had nothing but bad luck since day 1 with it but i do like the jeep and want to ger it done nice and enjoy it. Im 33 years old so not got major savings and i just get a wage to get by so not fortunate enough to keep spending and spending unfortunatly. My mistake was i didnt realise how problematic they was before i bought it or id of left them there.
Thanks again

hi

hopefully the garage will sort it out for u , if not do u have a multimeter and good at spannering as there plenty of us here that can offer advice etc

Must admit like most of us do our own work , having decent diagnostics with these vehicles is a must which will pay for itself very quickly

Understand where ur coming from but alas any vehicle can be problematic

Plse let us know how u get on

ps, sssssshhhhhhhhhhh, u said the J**p word, Lol
