OK so its as it says really i got a sudden drop in my mpg. i had a fuel leak for a while on my lift pump but the alternator decided to die on me so had to replace that first now even with my "leaking" lift pump i was still getting about 50 miles to £10 of fuel (don't shout at me just yet real numbers soon lol).

so i changed the alternator and all stayed about the same. got some cash together and put a new lift pump on (i will admit its a cheap one but i figured better than one putting my fuel on the floor.)

then i noticed a slight leak on one of the injectors so 1 by 1 took them out replaced the seal and put them back in and all seemed good for a couple of weeks i was getting closer to 60 per £10 of fuel.

now this is where it gets interesting. i have noticed no loss in power in general but in the cold she's a little sluggish (i put that down to it being derv someone correct me if im wrong)
driving along quite happy after just passing the mot :) poof engine cut out i knew my light was on but i had only done 20 ish miles since putting in a tenner so off i went got my can of fuel sorted.
put it in much to my delight she started up fine after a couple of seconds this is when i thought time to get some REAL numbers so i went to the garage filled the can up again but didn't put it in.

on exactly 5l i managed a whole 18 miles that's approx 16mpg

no leaks i can see any one with where i should start to look im open to all and any reply's as it is now i just cant afford to keep feeding it.

thanks in advance guys :)

ahhh my bad its a 300tdi manual, and i dont as a habbit run it dry but i did after it ran dry when i put the 5l in to see where it would get too hence i know i got 5L exactly and it got me 18 miles and cost me exactly £6 at the time lol

Sounds like you keep sucking all the crap of the bottom of the tank, when was the last time you cleaned the sedimenter out (if it's got one)
the tank when i inspected it with a scope cam looked good, plus i only ever get a power loss in the cold and i get zero judder not even when it ran out, just ran to empty and rolled to a stop.surely if it was crap from the tank i would have had blocked injectors and all sorts to play up!

as always i have no clue on this so if im wrong feel free to tell me haha i dont mind getting told if it means i can fix it haha

hey hey well not too great as you can tell from my post the tank is playing me up again and i've even sat in there and spoken nicely to her haha, all good with you!

not done any actual checks yet waiting for daylight tomorrow to get on it but no signs of leaks under it and it rolls free and silent, will still jack it up and check tomorrow with the rest of my checks though :)

ok its time to update. went and had a fairly good look over and now i have a number of concerns, so lets get to listing what i know and don't haha

1, all wheels turn free
2, prop not dragging on the drum brake
3, no signs of fluid under the car
4, filter clear of water
5, no signs of water in the oil
now for the not known and unsure

1, took off inlet manifold pipe found oil went to the turbo i have oil on inlet and outlet! nothing in the air box end air filter all nice and clean
2, test drive give me what felt like a limiter cutting in at 3.5k ish rpm
3, coolant still there but has bubbles as if it was soapy! related to this one i also seen a damp/wet area behind the alternator i cant quite see where its from guessing the water pump and air getting in the system hence bubbles. as always someone correct me if im wrong please.
air filter top

air filter bottom

my damp/wet area

turbo outlet

turbo inlet

finally a quick few mins video start up and normal drive no pushing up the rev's just a simple drive.the clunking at about 40 seconds ish is my window lol sound quality isnt the best in parts due to my phone vibrating in the holder but who knows it might help one of you lot help me. also i should note at the start you can see the SRS go out but you dont see my glow plug light it did come on and i did let it go out its just out of the camera's view

When you change the filter make a note if it's not full to the top ... that'll be the lift pump ...

Any weepage from the leak-off pipes
