Hi, Im msecco a newbie! Id just like to thank the members past posts for helping me overcome what i thought was headgasket failure on my freelander (gaylander,iknow!)v6 that i bought last week, it was bubbling back into the expansion bottle and smelling well hot. Thanks to one of the posts i noticed some black plastic bits in the bottle, ordered one emanual , one thermo kit from rimmers and i completed the job today!!:) its a 47k 2001 v6,sheltered never been off road ex demonstrator and the thermostat was jammed up and the inteconecting plastic pipe had started to break up . Pretty stupid design the thermo in a sealed unit...! Also a pig to get to! But mission acomplished, and after running her up for an hour on the drive i even found out my previously sileny cooling fans work. I have beled it through I hope. Now looking forward to accesorising! Just one question to the jedi's when i took off the engine cover i found a block connector not connected to ought :confused:has two wires one grey one yellow and runs off the loom that runs across the rear of engine cover, rear right hand corner as you look in.All other connections accounted for, just curious if any one knows what it might be for, or is it an optional that i just dont have..? Many thanks ps if anyone wants emanual on disco or freelander drop me your addy

if i knew how to upload one i would

take a photo
upload it to a computer
when you reply .. go to "go advanced" ( instead of 'qik reply' )
then scroll down 'till you see "manage attachments" .. clik on it ..

upload the photo from your computer .. to the thread post .. using that 'manage attachments' option

there Might be a connector clue below in the .pdf links ..
although the files might .. or might not be u.k. related ..
and may .. or may not be viable for a 2001 vehicle ..
( i.e. iv'e not figured it .. only started to look thru them this eve. )
there are some references to v6's ..

having said that .. they helped me figure out 2 stray connectors for an '06 td4 u.k. vehicle :)

this has connector info:

hi thanks HD3 ,for that! Well after my thermostat repair i took it out , with a full tank of fuel. Did 3 miles and the fuel rail must have been dislodged when i did the job...I stopped to find a lot of fuel boiling away in the V!! Bugger! After much head scratching it was towed to my local garage and they informed me that the o ring was damaged where i put the clip back in, apparently this is an obsolete part now. We managed to find a series of o rings and the fuel rail has stopped leaking. However this morning the amber warning light came on for the hill descent. Improper tow proceedure ?? I wasnt there when it was recovered, it an auto box to boot. But i hate warning lights on dash ! any ideas anyone please ? I dont off road and the car is still driving ok however...!

The yellow / grey cable connector fits in the top left of the pic below, near the L shaped computer box. It plugs into the thing on the tube.
