hey there guys, i was woken up this morning to a very grusome sight. After parking my landrover up at 10pm the previous evening outside my house, had been broken into. it seems they have cut the back window seal and popped out the back window. As this is my only car i am now stranded for a vehicle.
my car is a caledonian blue. fitted with a bearmach safari snorkel. and has a light bar fitted, the car currently has a paint defect on the left hand wing where there is a currently a clear difference in paint colour.

I'm truly sorry to hear this. Ouch! It's a real beaut. Looks like one I saw at Famous Four, Louth, belonging to one of the staff.

One of your photos appears to show a grille across the back window. Was this cut too?

Sorry to here this. We had a customer have theirs nicked, found bits on ebay. So if you can tell any bits check out ebay just in case.
I fear it may be broken and sold as parts.

theft of defenders this year is huge. it seems the cops are useless when it comes to theft nowdays, the only car crime they will pull out all stops for is the speed traps they like so much. pity about your defender but the truth is very few seem to resurface. the thieving scum who do this should be executed.

Where I live in High Peak there have been nearly 50 Defenders stolen this year, including two attempts on ours. One where I found that somebody had removed one of the headlights and one in 2007 where it was actually taken from where my wife works but recovered quickly due to the tracking device fitted on it. The thieves were caught that time but did not get much, just community service.
I wish the police would do something about this, but what could be done? They would have to stake out every Defender in the area to try and catch somebody....and then when they are cought the courts just let 'em off with community service.
I was talking to a local Police Officer who told me they have been instructed not to chase stolen Land Rovers due to the "danger" of them crashing.
High Peak Police are offering steering wheel locks at £47, under half price.

could a mod please sticky thread this, any chance of someone making a connection might lead to finding whats left of my cherished car. :(

my 90 300tdi was nicked last saturday, 5am. someone across the road saw 'em but didn't say anything, though it was me... anyway, turned up with a truck, hitched up lanny and drove off. local plods got them on cctv, think they were heading for mway - suggested it could be linked to derbyshire thefts, moving on coz they've nicked all they can there....

pi$$ed off....

Put some piccies up so we know what we are looking for. If you look a couple of posts up this thread you will see the link for the stolen landy thread. It is sticky so wont slide down the threads and be forgotten.

Best of luck in getting it back mate.
