did my first greenlaning trip saturday, great fun and the kids loved it:D
I noticed though when say driving in the ruts particularly etc the wheels were moving but the steering was a bit delayed, it felt as though the steering wheel wasnt fixed to the column tightly or something. Is this common?. I know my steering box is weeping, could it be due to that. Once back on the road it was fine again.

thanks

Rob

De-cat done, EGR bypass done, Oily ECU cleaned up, Injector Harness on order.... then the accessorising can begin

Running in ruts can give rise to strange feeback at the wheel, do not try to grip the wheel hard as this can cause all sorts of problems, just keep a light grip on the wheel and keep your thumbs clear.

Now your back on the tarmac you can check for play by moving the steering wheel gently left and right to to the limit of the play whilst checking the movement (or non movement) at the road wheel. play can be adjusted out but needs to be done with care.

regards

Dave
