UPDATE: Lucas Tranny Fix has been in gearbox for 700 miles now... No difference to 3-4-3 shift problem! If it were a valve seal or sticky valve, that should have cured it. What's next... Shift solenoids? I have twice had the 'Gearbox Fault' message up during two particularly bad episodes of the 'slippy shift' problem...

HVAC UPDATE: New fuse box fitted, both fans work, no more 'book' symbol on HVAC display. However... Driver's side air seems to be full hot all the time, unless I select the temp down to about 18 or 19, then it starts to get cool. Passenger side air behaves normally. STILL no book symbol, though. Difficult to judge if it was always doing this, since tonight was my first long journey in it and up until now, shorter trips in this weather has seen me keep HI selected both sides throughout. Thoughts anyone? If it were a blend motor problem, surely I would have a book symbol? I have read that the HVAC periodically recalibrates all the flap position settings, etc (every 500th startup, or somesuch). Any way to force a recal without TestBook?

Have you definately got enough oil in the box? Check when cold, engine idling, move gear lever through all positions?

How difficult is it to change the blower motor, i need to change the drivers side blower and probably blend motor(s) at the same time, i have all the parts ready to go. Is there any suitable literature about how to do it, RAVE seems a bit vague on the blower change, any help appreciated. Cheers

It's been described on here a few times, do a search, or look at www.rangerovers.net but that will be for LHD:)

Not tricky at all, although drivers side is more so - you have to shoehorn the thing out past a wiring loom. The procedure in RAVE is fairly straightforward, although can get confusing, since RAVE doesnt even explicitly state that there are 2 blowers!

Take off dash panel under steering wheel, and it's in there. You need to unclip / unscrew the bits holding the loom in place so you can move it enough to wiggle the motor out. 4 screws on the motor and it slides straight out of the housing. There are 2 electrical plugs to remove, a larger lucar multiplug (will be tight but should wiggle off eventually) and a small single one with a single wire (the fan speed control voltage, I think)

Thought I'd resurrect my original 'problems' thread with updates!

Radius Arm bushes changed (drama, drama!) - BIG difference, although didn't totally kill death wander...

Fitted 16" wheels with Amazon M/Ts - much more stable, even with muds on!

Changed steering damper - old one didn't seem totally knackered, just a bit 'weak' - but really made big difference to stability - death wander almost cured! Everything I've renewed so far has made an improvement.

Rear Trailing arm bushes, shocks, and rear airbags to come...
