Has anyone ever replaced a 6 bolt steering box in a Defender with a 4 bolt box and was it successful

yes they are its the 3 bolt that differs ,6 and 4 bolt use the same pipe fittings ,say hello from me

Make sure it comes with a drop arm, as while the pipe fixings are common between 4 and 6 bolt boxes, the arm splines are not.

Arm splines are common between 3 and 4 bolt boxes, but 6 are different.

Thank you, it worked and the Landu now has an MOT. It's also a dammed sight easier to drive.

My 110 was like driving a barge before i got the box replaced, always correcting the previous movement just to keep it in a straight line. Turning was a nightmare.
