Double banjo in fuel filter for diesel heater ?

Hi all,
I just bought a new Autoterm Diesel Heater for my 200TDI Defender. I was wondring if it's a good idea to replace the banjo bolt in the fuel-filter with one that has two connections (double banjo bolt) to supply my new heater with diesel.

So to replace the original NTC3346 banjo bolt with something like Double Banjo Bolt 3/8-24" (not sure about the correct size) and then use a extra fuel pipe connector to get some diesel for my heater.

Does somebody have some experience with this?

I think it would make more sense to take off a feed (to your heater) before the lift pump (via a T piece for example) and to install a separate in-line filter and a one way valve (so the FiP doesn't suck the diesel out of the heater).

Separate stand pipe and some 4mm od nylon tubing, easy on 200 with under seat tank, some tanks have a spare flange you can drill.
Best keep fbh separate from any car systems, so no cross over with faults.

Thnx for your responses. I wasn't sure about idea in the first place.. But Lynall you wrote it was easy with an under seat tank so I guess that is what I will go for. Drilling holes in a diesel tank sounds a bit scary ... but I'm gonna do it.

What drain the diesel to drill a hole?

haha if it was me i'd just send it.. but obviously there's people out there that i would tell them to drain it to be safe

Could you tee it in to the fuel return pipe ? Did that on my transit

I would depend if the return pipe just fits into top of the tank or the tube goes right down into the tank.
