OK, so I think my starter motor is starting to play up.
For a little while now it occasionally fails to restart. I.e. I turn the key and everything happens as per normal except the solenoid doesnt seem to kick out. The batteries and earths are fine (recently split charged it with brand new batteries) the starter relay is new, and I even changed the glow plug timer relay as a precaution (even though this is a different circuit).
Paddocks seem to have a smaller defender TD starter. Any thoughts on this?
Im moving house next weekend, so really need the Landy (300TDi 1994 D90) to be reliable for that (I have some towing to do). Am thinking of getting a new starter now, so I have it ready in case is fails properly this week.
Any advice of whats good and what to avoid would be welcome.
