My 1995 Discovery 1 3.9 V8 auto has just been dropped back home off the back of a pick up with a knackered starter motor, unfortunately it's an auto so no chance of a push start. Originally thought flat battery but soon realised definitely starter motor. My question is, is there much difference between the makes advertised on the net. Not going for genuine part, out of my price league but have seen LR Direct with a Britpart and an Allmakes. Have seen some articles that slam certain makes and was wondering what anyone else has used.

:confused:Back again, I've been given 2 different part numbers for the starter motor and am now wondering which one is correct. They are RTC6061N and NAD101490 or will either work. Any info much appreciated.
thanks:D

RTC6061(A) is Lucas, NAD101490 is Bosch(this is the original one), both will work, if u want some cheaper aftermarket part look for ERR6087(or something related beginning with ERR....or ESR , just chech the compatibility

Thanks, have just been told that the Lucas shouldn't work with my engine even though it's on loads of sites as being compatible. I may well end up with the Bosch.
