after recent mot inspection it was noticed my exhaust would require replaceing in the coming months.I thought of a stainless system but where do I get one? The car is a 1999 4.6 p38.I bought the car with serious electrical faults.Great! Im a retired auto spark with a big garage/workshop.All systems now sorted but the exhaust is the next challenge.I live in Derbyshire and know of two suppliers but no recommendations available. Any suggestions most welcome.

Yeah just fit a standard one it will last years total cost £157ish. Iv messed about with mine loads mainly removing the centre box for a straight pipe but it just drones to much in the cabin. Mite cut the back boxes off at some point but then again maybe not i dont want to sound like a corsa fitted with a ricer pipe.
Stainless loads of money for something you can see.

paddock spares about the best I got one myself ,delivered great price ,,speak to dave on sales bases in Staffordshire / stoke area if I remember rightly ,,, or try tinternet / fleabay both good sources !!!!!! cheers mozz

Yeah, exhausts last a long time now so I wouldn't bother with stainless.
The muffling material inside the boxes will fail long before they rust through and make it noisy

I'm gonna try a powerflow exhaust from silver systems in leek Staffordshire. Mines blowin a bit. I'm gonna ditch the twin pipes and just have a single. Round £300-350 fitted. Janspeed are great but at 700+ and fit it yourself no way Pedro. Powerflow are boy racer pipes but all straight throughs can a bit noisier. The guy who makes them is very experienced though.

Check if it is all stainless or just the boxes. I got one from StainlessSteel exhausts (seem to be a few companies with similar name so I'd have to check the specific website) and it became apparent after about 6 months that the boxes were stainless but the pipes themselves weren't and started blemishing. Now maybe it is just the grade of stainless has a similar doping to seawater or maybe it is just mild steel but I wasn't impressed. Unfortunately I never had a chance to send it back because of various crises with ageing relatives but I won't be getting another.

Just to give the powerflow modus operandi. It's a franchise the person making the exhausts uses bits like boxes and pipes. There bent and welded into place. Every franchise isn't the same skill level. One of the better exhaust places is jpexhuasts in macc but they are pricey...they didn't used to be but they are now. Top quality though.
If I was keeping twins I would buy... Janspeed though. Quality fit and finish.
