srs

Can you reset the srs without going to main dealers.Took out the instruments to do some work and upon refitting srs light stays on now.thanks in advance,tony

Officialy no, but you might want to try disconnecting the battery for a few hours. Make sure that you've got a working EKA code and radio code before you start.

Before you do that, removing the instruments shouldn't directly have any effect on the SRS. You haven't upset the wiring to the airbag in the wheel have you? P38s have a weakness in the ring connecting to the wheel. Or you haven't back heeled the SRS connector under the seat?

Forgot to mention its a classic,not p38,the better of the 2{tony ducks for cover}.Have tried disconnecting battery,but only for 5 mins,will try for a couple of hours,thanks,tony.

You have disturbed the wiring to the steering wheel airbag I would guess. Disconecting the battery even for a month won't help. Check the connections then, if it's like the P38, the fault will clear. If not you will need to have the codes read to locate the problem.

It will need Testbook to reset.
