Hi i just thought i would share this one with you it may save you forking out on a new belt. Ive had a squeeky belt for some time now and was thinking of replacing it just to quiet it down (i know about the penny trick, it was def the belt) and when speaking to a landy expert yesterday i mentioned the belt, he said that was definately where the noise was coming from and suggested rubbing chalk dust on it. wierd as it sounded i thought he must know what he was on about and gave it a go. I started trying to apply it to the belt with the engine on which was just bloody hard as the chalk kept snapping so in the end i got fed up and chucked the remaining piece between the belt and a pulley which resulted in a puff of chalk dust and an instantly quiet belt, hurray!:)

My school teacher use to "chuck" chalk at me and then shout "wake up at the back", as u have plenty of chalk are u a teacher. :hysterically_laughi

Hehe, my maths teacher used to chuck the blackboard rubber:eek::eek: She was a good shot too, the kids did not mess around in her class. This was 30 years ago, probably not allowed now:doh:

No im not a teacher im a floor fitter and use chalk to mark it out, my maths teacher used to throw the chalk rubber at us too, damn scary fella! we used to get our own back as he had a reversable chalk board, we would sneek in just before class and write abuse about him and draw rude grafitti all over the reversed part of the board, inevitably half way through the class he would turn the board only to be greeted with our "artwork" and the whole class would erupt into uncontrolable laughter, **** you maths teacher!
