Hi i just thought i would share this one with you it may save you forking out on a new belt. Ive had a squeeky belt for some time now and was thinking of replacing it just to quiet it down (i know about the penny trick, it was def the belt) and when speaking to a landy expert yesterday i mentioned the belt, he said that was definately where the noise was coming from and suggested rubbing chalk dust on it. wierd as it sounded i thought he must know what he was on about and gave it a go. I started trying to apply it to the belt with the engine on which was just bloody hard as the chalk kept snapping so in the end i got fed up and chucked the remaining piece between the belt and a pulley which resulted in a puff of chalk dust and an instantly quiet belt, hurray!
