Spotlight bother

Hey people on my defender ive got two 8 inch spots which come on when i switch on the full beam, but have now decided to stop working, although the standard full beams still come on, so no fault with the lever, any ideas where i should start to diagnose this as ime no good with the electrics, do bulbs blow in pairs?! or is it more likely to be something else?

are they wired thru a relay? if so check that and if not it'll be a broken or melted wire. Once yu get it sorted fit a switched relay.

If they are Land Rover spots have you tried the switch top left on the console? (well someone had to ask!) as that has to be on too for them to work. Well that's where mine is anyway and that was fitted by the dealer.

The relay on mine is under the bonnet on the right hand side.

listen to the relay and have someone turn them on/off......if the relay clicks then its the power lead from your battery.....or the feed from relay to the lights.
If no click then its either the feed from the switch or a bad earth........or of course it could be the relay itself.....or have you a fuse in the system ??

Check at the relay for a live feed (battery) and switched (main beam)...
