Hi, I don’t suppose there is anyone who can simplify my wiring issue. My dash lights meaning the speedo rev fuel and temp gauge illumination keeps fusing. As soon as I flick the switch it’s gone. It’s becoming annoying not knowing my speed in the dark so would love some help understanding the wiring diagram and which wires to trace. I’m guessing there is a short somewhere no ? Any help appreciated. Thanks

For that we should know the year of that D2 cos there are some differencies between facelifts and olders... exactly which fuse keeps blowing?

I haven’t managed to actually download a copy of rave successfully I’m on Mac if that makes any difference. In short no I haven’t

RAVE is quite useless for late facelifts cos the diagrams for those are simply not available... for this one it will be a kind'a guessing game

So to try to isolate things you'll have to make a trick, put a 30A fuse, turn on the lights and if it doesnt blow right away look fast all around the dash and console switches, cigar lighter, glovebox, etc to see which is not working then turn the lights off as soon as possible(do this in max 30 seconds if possible)...if it blows the 30A fuse too start checking the wiring at the glovebox and cigar lighter cos these are the most suspect for a short to ground

How late do you want it?

Cheers

Just check one of those 2003+ ones which i have as well and see if at the interior illumination diagram it's shown F3 as the fuse for that circuit and not F33 like on pre-facelifts and if you have one of these you'll make me happy... ;)

Still blowing fuse 3 with cigar lighter and glove box light unplugged. It has been working intermittently but is becoming a pain. I’m going to trace the wires but before I do could it be the headlight switch itself causing the issue it only seems to blow on switch on or off and possible random when I selected reverse. Only light not working is the cigar lighter surround

No way cos the switch is not connected to earth also it's before the fuse which is blowing, the problem is that those interior lights are on the same fuse with the RH side and tail lamps and with the trailer socket too which is the next suspect... check that cos it used to haave short to earth and if all OK there unplug one by one the RH tail and side lamps to rule out the easy things first
