Having a few little issues with electrics in my 300TDI.....

I have a Sony X-plod head unit and the nice sub in the back door, but this does not seem to produce any sound. Have a pre-out in the head (not sure if connected directly or through the DIN) but the speakers are certainly wired in as originally the case. Are the two systems compatible?

Also, the rear electric windows do not work on the door or centre console switches. Fuse is intact and front ones work fine. Any suggestions?

Any help much appreciated!

If you search the forum you will find the info u require, both issues have been dealt with in-depth in the past.

1. Head unit requires a pre-amplified output for the back door bass unit.
2. Window ecu has a faulty pcb but most times can be repaired.

On the origional head unit is an odd looking plug. This feeds the sub in the rear door.

I cut this off and soldered on a Phono connector from an old set of phono leads and connected it into one of the pre outs on my aftermarket head unit.

I hope this helps.

Having posted did another search (always the way) re the speakers- thanks for that.

Will look at the PCB issue.

Off to change other rear shocker now......

I had a similar problem with my Sony unit, make sure you use the head units amp remote (light blue wire) not the aerial remote or the subs will only work when you have the radio on and not the cd.
Sony units only give out a voltage on the aerial wire when you have the radio on and not anything else.
