i'd be interested in something gentle andy as i have a p38 and you know how tempreMENTAL they are, need some experience and its not advisable to jump in feet first or alone!!!

don't want to go dipping the car in lakes or anything just a gentle off tarmac type of drive!! maybe get a more serious 'green laneable' vehicle if it's gonna be a regular jaunt!! don't mind donning the walking boots and checking a few lanes out on foot beforehand for a feww days to get an idea of potential tricky bits.

rangey has 94 ltrs of gas and 100ltrs of petrol capacity (i know this doesnt go far in low range) so should be fine for most trips fuel wise.

i'm in rotherham so not too far away.

if anyone has any refenence material on routes and thier difficulty it would be greatfully welcome.

As I said earlier there are a few gentle lanes around Donny and around ferrybridge/leeds/selby area. Once I've got the 90 sorted I can show round a few of them if you want.

Can I join in? My 90 still hasn't been off road yet. I'm in Preston but don't mind trekking over. Gently stuff is great as I'm still new to laning.

that'd be cool, think i need some new tyres tho, i wont need them big dirty horrible feild ripping things tho will i??

the usual ones are scorpions, will these give enough grip or should i tink about something a little more grippy?

I also know a few the other side of Doncaster, past Bawtry etc. Nice and gentle, with a few little bumpy bits, but could also be easily done in a Freelander. Trouble is they're far apart and most time is spent getting between them. :(

Mind, they're ideal for newbies to off-roading who don't want to get stuck or break anything, farm tracks mostly, with a couple of smaller sandy climbs and a bit of mud if it's not been persisting it down too much. ;)

sounds like thats in my comfort zone!!! as a newbie i wouldnt want to have to call the aa to pull me out of a field!!! maybe take in the easy stuff to whet the apetite and the take some instruction on the harder routes(possibly in a more equiped vehicle if needed) and then maybe attempt them in the rangie!!!

i might be redundant by then!!!!

need new tyres and at around 600quid a set i dunt know if this side of crimbo will be a good idea!!!! unless of course there is a spare seat in a landy :D :D :D

I'd be up for it tomorrow morning (I have Archery at 2pm), but the lanes I know near Bawtry are only a few miles long, and I haven't driven them for maybe three years.

So, if anyone fancies an hour or two trundling round we could meet in Bawtry at say 10 am.

I'd suggest the pub carpark opposite Bawtry Motor Auctions?

I'll have a look on Memory map and see if I can find anymore, but they're a bit few and far between round here.
